SCAT – March
Newsletter
2010 has been a GREAT year so
far!! Thank you to all who helped out with the B/C Championship in
January. ALL our volunteers did a great job and are an essential
part in making our meet run smoothly. Because of your support in
donating and volunteering for concessions, we made $1600.00 plus
$500.00 at the high school District meet. A special thank you to
Elaine Dallas who headed up this endeavor – she did a
FABULOUS job and we are VERY grateful for her willingness to step
up and “take the reigns”. Concessions were a HUGE
success.

March 13-14 – Valley Coast
Swim Meet in Newport
March 22-April 2 – Spring
break for our swimmers. Take a break, relax, and get ready to gear
up for the spring and summer seasons!!! ýý
May 8-9 – North Bend
Invitational – Mother’s Day weekend – this is a
HOME MEET – we would like to see as many of you participate
as possible.
You will soon be receiving our
Spring/Summer meet schedule. Be sure to get those back to Chris as
soon as possible with the meets you plan to participate in.
We had a GREAT showing at our
State Meets these past two weekends. There were 9 swimmers
participating in the 10 & under, and there were 5 in the 14
& under. Swimmers participating in 10 & under: Matthew
Perry, Jerrad Perez-Duncan, Liliana Bennett, Brendon Roberts, Jake
Simmons, Nathan Monohon, Destinee Burkett, Sarah Kuykendall, and
Grace Knutsen Swimmers participating in 14 & under: Karl
Stuntzner-Gibson, Alyssa Bennett, Cassie Dallas, Alyssa Monohon,
and Noah Langlie (soon to be a SCAT member!)
If you would like to get involved
and be a member of the SCAT Board, we have 2 positions currently
available. We are looking for a new Membership Director and
Secretary. If you are interested, please contact Chris.
Many of you may have noticed our
newly painted starting blocks for the north side of the pool. Our
own Alyssa Monohon worked VERY hard at sanding and painting them as
a part of her Girl Scout Bronze Award project. Thank you Alyssa,
you did a GREAT job!!! ýý
